Attendance

Attendance includes instruction and activities that happen online with teachers as well as assigned learning that students do on their own without their teacher.

Students will be expected to participate in 100% of their daily virtual class to be considered present.

We understand that there are times when it is not possible for students to have their cameras on for the entire virtual class, however, students are expected to have their cameras on the whole time. This helps your child’s teacher know if your child is engaged in their learning and understanding what is being taught.

If your child is not able to attend any online classes for any reason, please contact your teacher to discuss options to keep your child on track with their learning.

If your child will be absent from class, please let the school know by entering excused absences through ParentVUE. If you are unable to use ParentVUE to notify us, please call in at (505) 816-9550. You will select the prompt to leave a message with the absence information for your student. The school clerk will log this information for you. You won't receive a call back to confirm this information but you will be able to see it in ParentVUE. 

You can now use the ParentVUE app on your phone, tablet, device, or computer to check your child’s daily attendance.

Attendance Policy Update (July 2024)

Daily Attendance

• Attendance present: is defined as a student being present in all assigned google meet(s) for each day for more than 50% of each meet time until dismissed by the teacher. Students will be marked tardy if they show up late. Class sessions and small group meetings are MANDATORY for ALL STUDENTS regardless of coursework pacing.
  • Middle School - Attendance will be taken by period and submitted the same day. Please visit our schedules page to view the schedule.
  • Elementary School - Attendance will be taken for the day. Students must be present for more than 50% of their scheduled meets to be marked present for the day. Meets are scheduled every day and every scheduled Meet will be counted. (Specials, morning meeting, small group, whole group, individual conference.) Attendance Recording in Synergy

• Attendance information will be recorded by teacher(s) in TeacherVUE for families to view in ParentVUE by the for the current day. All attendance will be recorded prior to 5PM each day.
