About Our School

eCADEMY K8 is a new APS magnet school that offers a completely online, full-time, year-long comprehensive educational program. The fully online K–8 school is an expansion of eCADEMY High School and was created in response to community demand.

Classes

Students will be expected to attend all online classes, complete assignments, and will receive grades and feedback on those assignments.
Electives will be available for grades 6–8 and may include inquiry-based learning projects.
Students in kindergarten through 8th grade will complete a K–12 pathway of learning as an expansion of eCADEMY High School.

Teachers

An academic coordinator/certified teacher will be assigned to each student.
eCADEMY teachers are New Mexico certified teachers, employees of the local school district, and members of the greater Albuquerque community.

Considerations for Parents and Students

Daily attendance for online work is required
Parents should be willing to partner with staff in support of their student(s)
Appropriate electives will be offered, but will not be an exhaustive list
Engagement by both parent and student will be important to gain as much learning as possible within the virtual learning environment
Some limitations may exist in a virtual learning environment
